Software testing techniques


Software Testing Techniques:
There are two types of software testing techniques
         I.            Static testing
      II.            Dynamic testing

Static testing:

Conducting test on non- executable form of software is called Static testing (or)document testing(or)verification testing
Conducting testing activities, with out running coding
Ex:-Reviews on BRS,SRS,HLD,LLD,Test scenarios and test cases
Static testing can be carried out by using “reviews”
Review:
 It is a process of verifying document to find out ,whether prepared document is completeness
And correctness document or not as per requirement of customer
Types of Reviews:-
         I.            Management review
        II.            Technical review
      III.            Formal review
      IV.            Informal review

Management review:

This review will be conducted by top level or management people to determine whether development work is going on as per defined plan or not

Technical review:

 This review will be conducted by senior technical people to determine whether design and coding implementation work is going on as per defined rules or not

Formal review:

Review will be conducted in systematic manner is called as formal review
Ex:-Inspection, audit
Inspection:-

A formal review will be conducted while doing a job or work
Audit:
A formal review will be conducted after completion of a job or work

Informal review:

A review will be conducted without following any systematic manners
Ex: peer view
Peer view:
A review will be conducted among colleagues
Walkthrough:
Study a document from first to last to understand the document

Dynamic testing:

Conducting test on executable form of software is called dynamic testing or conducting testing activities
With executing coding or software
